Come and attend our breakfast meeting.

5th Breakfast Meeting
Date: Wednesday January 29, 2014
Venue: MUBS Entrepreneurship Centre

Theme:  ‘‘How to use Social Capital to improve your Business’’
To succeed in business you need resources. These may be human, finance, equipment among others. Businesses fail because they are not able to secure these resources. It is common for businesses to fail because they don’t have good managers or they don’t have appropriate technology.
The silent resource which is literally free but very powerful is Social Capital.
Social capital refers to the benefits which emerge from the relationships among people. When people trust one another, they are able to assist one another. It may be in form of giving information, giving credit and making a reference.

The Breakfast Meeting will focus on this aspect.

The meeting will be between 7:00am – 9:00am

The 4th Youth Camp that Was!

The 4th Youth Camp was successfully completed at the MUBS main campus at Nakawa on Friday January 17, 2014. The camp which is organized by both the Entrepreneurship and Leadership centres is intended to bring together youth to discuss topical issues that affect them but also have training in leadership and entrepreneurship as they are prepared for the future as leaders, business managers and entrepreneurs. Welcome to our blogspot!

Welcome to the MUBS Entrepreneurship Centre Blog. The Centre is one of the MUBS outreach centres intended to foster entrepreneurship in the country. Among the activities of the Centre is training, research, causing discussions, and  consultancy. Among other activities that are intended to promote the growth of entrepreneurship in the country. It has now been established globally that entrepreneurship is an instigator of economic growth. Entrepreneurship creates value through start -up and exploitation of opportunities. It is therefore an important solution in removing poverty among people. This is the reason why entrepreneurship has become a preoccupation of governments, NGOs,education  institutions and individual in their bid to address the issues of poverty.

MUBS pioneered the teaching of entrepreneurship in the region and had various academic programmes from certificate to PhD. The Centre complements that effort in the formal education programmes to promote entrepreneurship especially among the youth. We hope to use the blog to cause discussion so that we can understand how it can be used to address poverty issues.

We welcome discussions on this matter.

Prof. Waswa Balunywa and Diana Nandagire Ntamu
